The Design Museum is re-opening at a new location in Kensington on November 24th. Offering visitors three times more space than in its previous location the Museum will house a fantastic collection of the key designs which have shaped the modern world. This new site is just a stone’s throw away from the Royal College of Art, the V&A museum, the Science Museum and the Serpentine Galleries.
In time for the re-opening The Design Museum has also opened its first ever standalone retail space, moments away from its new west London site. Located on Kensington High Street, the Design Museum Shop presents a curated edit of design classics, collections based on current exhibitions and an ever-changing array of design-focused objects from around the world. “The Design Museum shop reflects the values of the museum itself,” said Design Museum director Deyan Sudjic. “It’s our ambassador on the high street, always changing, always full of fascinating things, displayed with style, and staffed by people who live and breathe design.”
